Magnetic field dependence of magnetization reversal behavior in CoÕPt multilayers

چکیده
Magnetic field dependence of magnetization reversal in Co/Pt multilayers has been quantitatively investigated. Serial samples of Co/Pt multilayers have been prepared by dc magnetron sputtering under various Ar pressures. Magnetization reversal was monitored by magnetization viscosity measurement and direct domain observation using a magneto-optical microscope system. The wall-motion speed V and the nucleation rate R were determined using a domain reversal model based on time-resolved domain reversal patterns. Both V and R were found to be exponentially dependent on the reversing applied field. From the exponential dependence, the activation volumes of the wall-motion and nucleation could be determined based on a thermally activated relaxation model. The wall-motion activation volume was revealed to be slightly larger than the nucleation activation volume. © 2001 American Institute of Physics. @DOI: 10.1063/1.1385578#

متن کاملDependences of the activation volumes on Ar sputtering pressure in CoÕPt multilayers prepared by dc magnetron sputtering
We investigated the wall-motion and nucleation activation volumes of Co/Pt multilayer films prepared by dc magnetron sputtering under various Ar sputtering pressures. Delicate analysis of time-resolved domain evolution patterns reveals that the nucleation activation volume is generally smaller than the wall-motion activation volume in all the samples, which is consistent with the nucleation-dom...

Ni-Co/Cu multilayers have been grown by electrodeposition method from a single electrolyte (based on Ni(SO4).6H2O, Co(SO4).7H2O, Cu(SO4) and H3BO3) using galvanostatic control on titanium sublayers. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns confirmed the multilayered structure with the nanometer thicknesses. Also, electron diffraction x-ray (EDX) analysis confirmed the purity of deposited samples. ...

We present an experimental realization of a magnetic two-dimensional XY system using amorphous materials. The classification of the dimensionality is based on the critical behavior of amorphous Co68Fe24Zr8(d)/Al70O30 (20Å) multilayers, where d = 11 − 16Å. Analysis of the remanent magnetization, the magnetic isotherms, the initial susceptibility, and the magnetic correlation length shows that th...
متن کاملTemperature and ion irradiation dependence of magnetic domains and microstructure in CoÕPt multilayers
Microstructure and magnetic properties of Co/Pt multilayers with perpendicular anisotropy were studied as a function of growth temperature (TG) and ion irradiation. With increased TG , larger columnar grain size and an improved ^111& texture were observed. Up to a critical temperature (Tcrit) , a monotonic increase in coercivity (HC) with TG was measured, followed by a decrease in HC with furth...
